Tips For Online Students
Many online students are always on the go, whether they’re at work or running around with their families. They’re juggling various responsibilities, and an online degree program should not be an added burden.
For those who own smart phones, make your e-learning experience a little easier and smoother by taking advantage of your mobile device and increasing your productivity during the day. Your cell phone is already your constant companion so why not make use of the notes and calendar features on your phone to prepare for your online course? And if you’re an iPhone user, well, your options are a little more open with the thousands of applications available.
Here is a list of 5 free iPhone apps that distance learning students should try:
- Evernote: if you’re always jotting down little notes to yourself, let this application house and organize those thoughts for you. Evernote allows you to make text, photo, and audio notes so you choose which method works best for you at that time. For example, if you’re currently pursuing an online degree in teaching and pass by a new, bustling supply store for teachers, take a quick snapshot of the store’s name and type in its address as a caption; after you’ve received your degree, you’ll know exactly where to go for your first shopping trip.
- iProcrastinate Mobile: If your online classes are spaced far apart, it can be easy to keep pushing off those 4 chapters of reading and it can be ever easier to forget about them. Nip procrastination in the bud with this task management application. Manage the coursework for your various online courses by tracking your assignments and keeping an eye on due dates.
- Pocket Informant LITE: Because a majority of those enrolled in an online program are employed full-time, finding a time to study is often very difficult. With this application, you can keep track of your calendar and allot time in your schedule for completing assignments, reading, and studying. This app shows more than just a list of appointments, it also provides you with a visual of your schedule, blocking out the hours when you’re busy so you can determine with one glance when you can pencil in some time for your online degree.
- Notecards Lite: For those with tight schedules, no minute can be wasted. Instead of idly sitting on the bus, waiting in line for lunch, or staring off into space, make better use of your time and review the material from your online course. With this application, you can create custom flash cards to either help you study for this week’s exam or learn material from yesterday’s session. And if the thought of having to type up all of that content on the iPhone keypad is causing some hesitation, take a deep breath and stop worrying because you can type up your cards on the computer and import them to your phone for free.
- eBuddy: Keep in touch with other students from your online class; you never know when you’ll need that support. This application merges all of your buddy lists from messengers such as AIM, MSN, Google Talk, and Facebook and gives you easy access to them so that you can chat with all of your peers without having to log in to various applications.
Your thoughts: Are there other iPhone apps that you would recommend to an online student?

The number of new and great
The number of new and great iPhone apps is growing daily. For educational purposes at least, there's a wide variety of choices, just like in Voip Phones, which will soon raise the standard in mobile telephony.
